In the wake of the former National Security Advisor's resignation on Tuesday, sources confirmed that Michael Flynn's workout playlist has been entirely converted to 29 different versions of "Mother Russia" by Iron Maiden.
"Now that everything's all out in the open, Michael feels like he's finally free to express himself, musically and otherwise," said Vladimir Putin, a close friend and long-time co-conspirator of Flynn's. "Last I heard, he was shredding it like Dave Murray at Gold's Gym."
Sources also report that "Stranger in Moscow" and "Back in the USSR" are close contenders for Flynn's Friday resignation party playlist, though this has not yet been confirmed.
For those who don't know Julien Baker, prepare yourself for what is a special gift to the genre of indie pop/rock. Her first album Sprained Ankle released in 2015, and it left a chiming chill down her listener's spines. Every time I've asked people about her, they always say "DUDE, Julien Baker?! Where did she come from?" I understand the response, because even as a music director she was nowhere on my radar. But now, her signing with Matador Records has become the next big step in her music career. She's soon to show up on your radars.
Matador Records is a label who's list of artists include Sleater-Kinney, Pavement, and Yo La Tengo, many of whom are still around in some way. Baker signing on to Matador is the next step to growing her already increasingly rapt audience. Not to mention she's a proud member of the LGBTQ community, from the south. She's definitely a unique, proud, and important voice in our current time.

In preparation for the ticket sale of Morrissey's "upcoming" show on April 12th, press officials were hard at work drafting a subsequent cancellation email on Tuesday.
"With delicate situations like these, it's best to be prepared," said Frank Shankly, director of press and promotions. "I figure we can push this puppy out in a couple of weeks, make any necessary embellishments, and watch San Antonio burn."
“Texas is great for us because it feels like you’re going to a different country, but it’s a cool different country,” Eisold said. “Texas always has good shows. People are super welcoming and warm.”
When I sat down between Eisold and Max to talk about Cold Cave, I pointed my questions towards Eisold under the assumption that he would want to be the one to speak about his project. Yet asking about why Drab Majesty was a good fit for the tour Eisold said “we connect more with what they’re doing musically”. Later on he would talk about how The Idea of Love, one of his latest singles, was currently everybody's favorite song to play.
“I think it’s a bit of relief at the end of the set,” Eisold said. “It kinda comes in with this sort of bone head beat which, is kind of refreshing after a bit more frantic songs. It represents the three of us in Cold Cave, at this point in time pretty well.”
Born in the bleak isolation of the secluded prairie city of Edmonton, Canada, Homeshake's Peter Sagar worked with friends in a number of local bands before picking up and moving to Montreal in 2011 to begin recording under the Homeshake moniker. Started immediately following the recording of his sophomore LP Midnight Snack, Fresh Air continues Sagar’s exploration of dreamy, downtempo bedroom R&B and draws inspiration from such disparate artists like Sade, The Band, Broadcast, Prince, and Angelo Badalamenti.

KRTU just got Cloud Nothing's new album in the mail, and it isn't as bad as we thought! Frontman Dylan Baldi's project has released his band's fourth album with Carpark Records, and the sound just keeps changing. What was once a bedroom recording project without a cause has evolved into something stronger, has been polished since its birth from the DIY roors. NPR released an article about this album that is worth citing...
